PAINTED WASH STAND ca:1850

A good looking ca:1850 grain painted one drawer stand with sculptured  sides and back splash, turned tapered legs, t nails and a dove tailed drawer.  Since these tables are used as wash stands, servers and  numerous other functions, the top at some point inits life was expertly  covered with a painted oilcloth. It is interesting to notet that oilcloth was invented in England in the 18th century! (AETE)

PAINTED CHROME ORANGE TRIPOD CANDLE STAND - 18th CENTURY

The simplicity of the design as well as the original paint  of this 18th century candle stand translates into a beautiful and unique piece of art. Note how the legs and cleats are mortised into the post. Note also the distinct design of the feet as well as the arch of the legs and the two board top. Outstanding condition. CANDLE STAND 1740-1760

A nicely designed and well made candle stand whose post holds a movable two candle arm utilizing a peg and hole method for the vertical movement. The unique shape of the arm is attractive and functional which adds to the charm of the table. Note that the finials on the ends of the arm are similar to the finale on the post. The beautifully incised  drip tray houses the post employing a wedge at the bottom and also houses the mortised and incised turned splayed legs. The stand is in excellent condition and has no repairs. 
   The painted BETTY LAMP hanging from the arm is available for $395 and the WHALE OIL LAMP is available for $550. Both are on the website under RECENT ADDITIONS.

OVAL PAINTED TABLE ca:1840

This is a beautiful oval table in old red paint. The one board chamfered top is  1 1/2"  plus thick and is 31 1/4" x 39". The nice looking turned tapered legs provide a height of 28 3/4". In addition, the table is in excellent condition with no repairs or cracks.(RTKED)

BITTERSWEET COURTING HOUSE, SHOP OR OFFICE DESK ca:1840

A beautiful slanted painted desk in the original bittersweet paint with lift top. Note the large writing (or computer surface) which is hinged to a 10 3/8” full length board. Note also the three drawers (dovetailed and chamfered) in the  interior as well as the dovetailed backsplash. The height of opening in the front is 24”  which provides plenty of room for legs and chair(RETE)

TRIPOD CANDLE STAND - 18th CENTURY

A tripod “candle” stand with urn and ring turnings on the post. Note the well formed snake feet as well as the impressive “round” top. Note also the communion brace (spider) that secures the legs in their dovetailed joints. Great old finish.(ADBK)

EARLY 19TH CENTURY DISH TOP CANDLE TABLE-BITTERSWEET PAINT

An early 19th century three legged dish top candle table with the original bittersweet paint. Note the wonderful turnings on the post, legs and base and how the legs are mortised into the base. SLAT-BACK ROCKING CHAIR-19th CENTURY

A nice looking 19th century rocking chair with 3 intricately cut slats on back, sausage and ring (also small vase) turned  posts and dome finials. Arms are flattened at the end with turned supports mortised into the side stretchers. Note the turned vase and ball front stretchers. Note also how the legs are mortised into thick relatively short rockers.
The rush seat is old and in good condition. A wonderful chair. (KTKE)

PAINTED DRY SINK ca:1820

What a nice size good looking dry sink. This painted dry sink has its original hinges, fabulous original paint (some overpaint)  is square nailed and has the original shelves inside. The top of the dry sink is one board which was made so that it slanted toward the back (very unusual) where the drainage hole is located. As a result,  there is some minor lost on the back part of this board. (BDBAE)

AN 18th CENTURY  WILLIAM & MARY PAINTED BUTTERNUT AND MAPLE CHEST OF DRAWERS.  THE CHEST FEATURES A RECTANGULAR TOP WITH MOLDED EDGE ABOVE TWO OVER THREE GRADUATED DRAWERS, ENDING IN A MOLDED BASE  RAISED ON REPLACED BALL FEET. THE DRAWERS ARE DOVETAILED FRONT AND BACK, HAVE REPLACED COTTER PIN TEARDROP BRASS PULLS AND  ORIGINAL  BRASS ESCUTCHEONS.
