PUMPKIN & CLARET RED GAME BOARD with DRAWER

A  19th century one board pumpkin & black game board outlined in black  with drawer and legs. Note the stress crack with an old repair as well as the square nails and the wonderful condition of the paint. This board was originally made with the drawer and has the original pull. The board can be hung or can sit on a table. (CTLK)

WINDMILL WEIGHT- ELGIN WIND POWER AND PUMP ca:1890

The windmill weight has been recognized by the Museum of American Folk Art as a major art form since the second half of the 20th century. The windmill was an indispensable part of American rural life from the1850's to the 1930's. A wonderful reference book is Windmill Weights by Milt Simpson where he discusses this windmill weight as well as many others. This particular windmill weight, weighs 43 lbs. and measures 15 1/4"H x 16 1/2"L x 3 1/2"D. It is in outstanding original condition and has never been painted. As with all our pieces, a lay-away plan is available. (DOETE)

GILDED RUNNING HORSE WEATHERVANE -LATE 19th CENTURY

A 19th century running horse weathervane with an old gilt surface. While the weathervane is in good condition there is age related ware but also a nice verdigris patina that only develops over time. (LETEDE)

*LION and TWO MONKEYS MECHANICAL BANK

The "Lion and Two Monkeys" mechanical bank was manufactured by Kyser & Rex, Philadelphia, Pa. It was based on a patent issued to Louis Kyser  and Alfred C. Rexon July 17,1883. It should be noted that the monkeys arms are brass. The bank is all original (including the glass eyes) and in working condition. Note the great paint. (BOKE)

Speaking Dog Mechanical Bank 1885

The patent for the Speaking Dog Bank was issued on July 14,1885 and was first Manufactured by Shepard Hardware Co. of Buffalo, New York. Later J&E Stevens produced the bank. The Shepard version has the distinctive rectangular coin trap (which this one has) and the Stevens Bank has the round trap. The bank is all original and in working condition. (OOK)
