GOODWIN & WEBSTER OVOID JUG HARTFORD , CONNECTICUT 1831-1840

An ovoid stoneware jug stamped GOODWIN WEBSTER highlighted in cobalt blue. This is the word of Horace Goodwin and Mack Webster who ran a pottery in Hartford, Connecticut from 1831-1840. The jug features an attractive early ovoid form with an incised neck. The jug is in very good condition with two small chips on spout and a couple of very minor chips on the base.(BATK)

A ca:1900 theorem on velvet in a beautiful old paint decorated frame with very old glass.
The theorem depicts a basket full of fruit including grapes, peaches cherries, plums etc.
We took the back off in an effort to determine age, wash the glass and established how the theorem was attached (see photos). The theorem is in very good condition. (TKDKE)

19th CENTURY OVOID STONEWARE 5 GALLON JUG WITH BLUE DECORATION

Ovoid stoneware jugs are desirable for there pleasing form and this 5 gallon jug is no exception. This jug features a cobalt blue floral decoration with additional freehand leaf drawings on the sides. Note the variation of color, the ringed neck and the three incised lines on the shoulder. Note also the kiln issue below the handle at the time of firing.  However, once out of the kiln, the jug was handled with care and only has one small chip on the rim and minor flaking on the base. The overall condition is excellent.(BOTL)

AN EARLY WOMEN'S SEWING CIRCLE

RARE COBALT DECORATED STONEWARE GERMEL CONNECTICUT ORIGIN ca: 1825

Conjoined ovoid jug with semi-squared spouts connected by a strap handle. Shoulder, handle and joinery between the jug highlighted insight cobalt. The midsection of each jug with light cobalt dashes. A rare and highly desirable form. Surviving in remarkable condition. Handle in untouched condition!!!
