EIGHT DRAWER SPICE CABINET MID-LATE 19th CENTURY

An eight drawer original green painted spice cabinet with some spices identified in yellow paint on several drawers. The cabinet is square nailed and the drawers are chamfered. Some of the pulls are original and some have been replaced. The cabinet can be hung or sit on a counter.  (RTKE)

Swivel Toaster (American) 1750-1800

A well designed and impressive American toaster that exhibits two double arches and four open tulip finials. This nicely designed toaster has "penny" feet, a well designed handle and a hanging loop. WE FOUND THIS UTENSIL RACK IN THE HOME OF A COLLECTOR OF HEARTH AND COOKING EQUIPMENT AS WELL AS  EARLY LIGHTING. NOTE THE TYPICAL SPIKED ENDS FOR DRIVING INTO A LINTEL OR POST AND THE  INTERESTING INCISED (EMBOSSED) DESIGN ON CROSSBAR . NOTE ALSO THE THREE INTERESTING HEART DESIGNS ATTACHED TO THE CROSSBAR. TALL BRASS and IRON TRIVET - 19th CENTURY

A well used tall trivet made of iron, brass and wood. Note the smoothness of the nicely turned wooden handle. Note also the penny feet, the simple design of the brass top and the rat tail front hooks used for attaching to a fender or other frame. While this trivet could be used in a parlor or bedchamber, it could also be used in the kitchen due to its size. (LTK)

18th C. FIRE SCREEN,FIRE BAR, TRIVET

THIS KIND OF TRIVET WAS DESIGNED WAS  HUNG ON THE FIRE SCREEN, FIRE BAR ETC. THEY WERE UTILIZED TO HEAT THE TEAPOT AND MUFFINS. THE HOLDER IS ADJUSTABLE TO FIT DIFFERENT THICKNESSES. GAME/UTENSIL RACK ca: 1800 HEART DESIGN

A very early ca:1800 WI game/utensil with 6 hooks and a scrolled-iron heart decoration supported by two large scrolls. What is so interesting about this rack it appears that the blacksmith used the same technique that he used in making rose head nails when attaching the hooks. An early piece in excellent condition.(ATKE)

ROTARY GRIDIRON 1740-1800

The rotating gridiron was used to lay meat or fish on for broiling, or to use as a trivet. The gridiron was also used for light cooking and warming. Note the shouldered handle here because the gridiron's low height. Also note, the heart finial with a hole for hanging. Excellent condition. (MBED)

KETTLE TILTER 1700-1800

KETTLE TILTERS ARE SO FUNCTIONAL AND STILL ATTRACTIVE. THE TILTER WAS HUNG FROM A  TRAMMEL AND HELD A TEAKETTLE OVER OR NEAR THE FIRE.THIS PARTICULAR TILTER HAS A BAR WHICH LOCKS THE TEAKETTLE IN PLACE. BY TIPPING THE EXTENED BAR THE HOT WATER COULD BE POURED.

EARLY HERB GRINDER ca:1800

This is an early and unique wooden herb grinder with great patina. The trough and base is one pieced of carved wood. It is 17" long, 2 3/4" wide and 2 3/4" high .Note the incised line on both sides and how nicely the base was carved. The roller with handles is approximately 11" long and the roller is 51/4" to  5 3/4" diameter and  1" thick. Outstanding condition with no age cracks.(ALK)
