The more accomplished blacksmith adopted the spring action rushlight early in the 19th century rather than using the counterweight. This is a very nice dainty spring action rushlight holder with a curved arrow foot, square stem and rectangular jaws. Note the very nice design of the pointed thumb piece. TWO DOOR HANGING/COUNTER TOP CUPBOARD -EARLY 19th CENTURY
An interesting and functional all original two door early 19th century hanging or counter top cupboard. The wood is hand planed, original pulls, period hinges with rose head nails and a wonderful red wash. Each door has two battens attached on the interior with square nails to prevent warping. The case is square nailed and in excellent condition.(KETE)
