TOLEWARE DOCUMENT BOX- EARLY 19th CENTURY

An early 19th century toleware document box with an interesting an unusual decoration.
The document box has a nice clean interior and is complete with original hasp and original handle. The original paint which is attributed to Mercy North 1798-1838 (Fly Creek NJ) remains vibrant on all sides. However, there is some loss on all the sides.  The box is in excellent condition for a piece of this age.(CARL)

Davenport Jug or Pitcher Ironstone Jardinere Pattern ca:1815

This is an excellent Hydra pitcher made by Davenport Company of Longport Staffordshire, England 1805-1820. It is made of Ironstone Pottery which Davenport called Stone China. Overall a lovely early jug in great condition. An identical Davenport jug is illustrated in Godden's Guide to Ironstone, a reference book by Geoffrey A. Godden, Published by The Antique Collectors Club, page 230, Plate 178. Davenport jugs and pitchers are generally of higher quality than Mason's Ironstone and have heavily gilded detail, with finer hand painting. (BON)

Around the turn of the century many families raised chickens in their back yards. Now chicken waterers are being used in the garden to provide water for the birds, for decorative purposes or in the home to provide water for the cat or dog. Of course, they could also be used as originally intended to provide water for the chickens. A 19th century original paint decorated covered tea canister with floral decoration. The paint is in excellent condition considering age and use. TOLEWARE CANISTER 19th CENTURY

Canisters of tin were made in a variety of sizes and shapes. This oval canister is nicely decorated on all sides and on the hinged lid. While there is some minor loss on the paint, the canister is in good condition and is quite colorful. A hook for hanging is attached to the back.

EARLY BUTTERFLY BUTTER CROCK
