Two Delaware Valley (N.J., PA.) ca:1770 painted chairs with splint seats. Note the four horizontal slats which are mortised and pegged into the cylindrical stiles, nicely designed ball finials on the stiles, turned front legs with single ball and also ball feet, paired stretchers on sides which provide strength and stability and the impressive front stretcher with the ball and ring turnings. Considering age and use, the overall condition is excellent. (BKDETE)
