DOUBLE WICK FOOTED PAN LAMP-18th CENTURY

The simple pan lamp required little ingenuity beyond the use of heat conducting materials when grease was to be the fuel. This resulted in a tendency for the fuel to drip. This problem was solved to some extent by using some sort of drip catchers or saucers to catch the drip.
I don't thick I have ever seen a penny footed pan lamp. This particular double wick pan lamp is very well made, can be hung or placed on a table. It features a rat tail hanger with a twist that can be hung or driven into a wall. Outstanding condition. (ARTK)
