Pantry boxes with handles were used for carrying butter to market as well as storage boxes (i.e. sugar). The wood is thick and sturdy and the pegged handle is substantial. The blue over green paint is original and in great condition. Note the early copper tacks and the cleanliness of the interior. (ATOK)
