LATE 18-19TH CENTURY HEARTH PRICKET LIGHT

A very nice piece of late 18th. to early 19th. century piece of wrought iron, blacksmith made lighting. A tall table light having a pricket to hold the candle that is surrounded by an iron cage and ample drip pan for safety. The iron cage is a little loose but not damaged. The light has a small hook on the side to hold a candle snuff and/or scissor wick trimmer. The scissor wick trimmer is included in the price but the conical snuff is not. Since taking the photos, we have added a very early conical snuff which may be purchased separately (List Price $125/TRE). Note how the long support rod is attached is attached to the large bottom tray supported by three stylized feet. The Pricket light measures 26 inches tall and the diameter of the base plate is 8 1/2 inches. An unusual and rare piece of early lighting. (HDHR)
