A 1760-1790 rectangular wooden lantern design having four glassed sides with one a mortised door which is attached with extenders that protrude through the roof and bottom. The corner posts are extended to form legs and top finials and are held in place with square nails. The door is fully mortised and pegged and one side is extended and mortised into the top and bottom to permit opening and closing. The candle holder is well worn and attached with square nails. The glass is replaced. The lantern has a bail handle and a venting hole with an arched tin cover. Outstanding condition,
