UNIQUE BUTTER PADDLE/SCOOP LATE 18TH or EARLY 19th CENTURY

Butter paddles or scoops were shallow spoon like  forms employed to press down on butter after removal from the churn to force out water and to put the butter into containers. Note the crimped edge and the hook for hanging. The hook also provided additional control when working with the  butter. A rare and unique design. (LOPE)
