Wooden Foot Stove (Foot Warmer) 1740-1830

Feet were often kept warm by resting them on tin or wooden boxes that held a pan of hot coals. As one would expect, wooden boxes are much more rare! This hand fashioned foot warmer with its perforated sides in a heart design, the wire bale handle and a well used charcoal pan is a wonderful example. Repair on front lift panel. (BOK)
