ADJUSTABLE LAMP STAND 18th CENTURY

Description

We have been collecting and selling early lighting for over 20 years and we have never seen anything like this. It is similar to the Candle Stand 1740-1760 that I have in the EARLY LIGHTING category but has no socket for candle or peg lamp. The two arms adjust vertically and rotate 360 degrees. The ends of the arms (hands) are cupped to grip the long hooks  of Betty Lamps grease lamps or a lamp that could be hooked onto  the cup. The lamps could also hang over the arms. Just a great and unusual piece.See EARLY LIGHTING published by THE RUSHLIGHT CLUB page 122 for a similar example. In great condition and 39″ high.
