A most unusual and rare chestnut double candle, adjustable, table lamp. The turned post supports two arms which hold the tinned candle cups which rest on two beautifully turned pads. The chestnut base is nicely turned but has an age crack and what appears to be a 1/4” natural flaw hole. What is so interesting about this piece, is that with all the natural shrinkage, the 200 years of ware and probably some minor repairs over the years the arms and pads remain secure and the vertical adjustment continues to work well.
