Description
An attractive and rare candlestick with 2 round rods and 2 flat rods which are topped by a pierced disc with a hook for carrying or hanging as well as a drip pan. The four rods pierce the drip pan and are attached to a turned and waisted wooden base. The birdcage is a safety feature which prevented the candle from toppling out of the holder and reduced the possibility of a fire. The candlestick is all original and in quite good condition for a piece that was used since the 18th century. 9 3/4”H (KTKE)
