ADJUSTABLE WEIGHTED PUSH-UP CANDLESTICK EARLY 1800’S

Description

THROUGHOUT OUR EARLY HISTORY SHOPKEEPERS AND HOME OWNERS WERE EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT FIRE. AS A RESULT THEY USED LARGE AS WELL AS WEIGHTED BASES ON THEIR CANDLESTICKS. THIS EARLY 19th CENTURY IRON PUSH-UP CANDLESTICK UTILIZES A SAND BALLASTED CONICAL BASE TO PROVIDE GREAT STABILITY. THE CONICAL BASE HAS A NICE DIAMOND SHAPED DESIGN SURROUNDING ITS SURFACE AS WELL AS A INTERESTING DESIGN ON THE TOP OF THE PUSH-UP. NOTE THE SUBSTANTIAL DRIP PAN. THE GREEN PAINT IS ORIGINAL AND IT APPEARS THAT THE DIAMOND DESIGN ON THE BASE AND THE FOOT OF THE BASE WAS ORIGINALLY HIGHLIGHTED IN RED. (TKDD2EW) 111/4”H, 5 3/4” DIA. BASE LIST PRICE: $800
