PIGGIN ca: 1700-1800
Description
This a well made great looking staved bucket (called a piggin) having one stave extending higher as a handle. The piggin was often used as a dipping vessel or a grain measure. Note the hole in the extended stave foe hanging or to aid in pouring. Note a small crack on the upper band which does not extend the entire width.
