5 GALLON BLUE DECORATED ANTIQUE OVOID STONEWARE JUG

Description

This 19th century 5 gallon jug features great form and sizes well as  cobalt blue decoration. The plant in a container decoration is simple and nice and allows one to focus on the form. The cobalt blue around the ribbed handle and rim is just a nice little touch which permits one to enjoy the beauty of this early American stoneware. Note the incised lines on the shoulder. While there are some kiln issues they don’t distract from the overall attractiveness of the jug. There is a minor chip on rim however the overall condition is excellent.(BOTL)
