A very functional NEW ENGLAND CANDLE BOX ca:1850 with original knob, chamfered sliding lid and square nails. There is some expected age shrinkage of the lid. However, the lid continues to slide effectively on the runners. There is also a minor repair on the back left side of the lid (see photo). An attractive storage box. 11”L x 6 1/8”W x 5”H
