I have had half-size lanterns although they are not commonly found but this is the first one we have owned with a horn panel in the door. The horn is original or early and in very good condition. The lantern was made with heavy tinned sheet iron. It has a tin strap carrying handle and a ring for hanging on a nail or peg. The candle socket is tabbed through the base The lantern has an untouched surface and is all original. A 12″ hanging height a 10″ lantern height with a 4 1/4″ diameter base. All soldered seams are tight. There are the expected dents and wear marks on this 18th century lantern. (HLTK)
