Description
A most unusual beautifully designed painted dovetailed 18th century wall/table box with two dovetailed drawers featuring an outstanding and creative design utilizing the heads of two birds to form a heart. The applied base and body molding are pegged and certainly add to the overall attractiveness of the box.The blue over red paint is in outstanding condition considering age and use. The left drawer is divided into 4 sections and the dividers are mortised and the right drawer has no dividers. The lift lid utilizes extenders. A great early piece. (ALDEFE)
