Description
American, New England, early 18th century, made of thick and heavy forged iron. The unusual wide base with the strong wide, thick legs certainly protects the lamp from falling over. The shaft has a nice subtle twist ending in a strong rush or splint nip. While the light has a more primitive appearance, the candle cup has a magnificent wrap where the seam is almost indistinguishable. Great workmanship.
