Pair of matching 18th century Lignum vitae lathe turned candlesticks. They stand 9 5/8” with 4 3/4” diameter bases. There are 3 very tight age shrinkage cracks on one and 2 on the other. They have a wonderful natural dry surface with the best patina. There is a natural flaw on inverted vase of one that is worn smooth. They date to c.1740-1780 and are English most likely. Rare to find a pair. They look great displayed with appropriate candles.
